This modern, suburban, family home for a professional gentleman was designed with the living space as the show piece. Comprising of a generous double volume with a study loft above the kitchen, this open-plan space operates as the centre of the home, opening onto a large patio designed to entertain. The patio includes a braai area and large stone hearth bordering a garden courtyard and pool, with the bedroom wing and lettable studio completing the U-shaped dwelling.
Bedrooms face the garden courtyard, affording connection to the exterior, and manifesting at a more pared-down, intimate scale than the living space. The lettable studio is accommodated on the east of the property, retaining privacy from the main dwelling, whilst enabling optional additional income.
This home combines grand scale and family comfort with modern style and elegance in mind.
